Bushes, Beaches and "Beer"

Steven's off work again this week, its WAT TOO HOT in the woods,

so he's down till it cools off or we get rain. Sooooo, he's pruning bushes,
going to the beach and finding treasures! Like this one, two hunks of rope
that he's making into one...dont ask why. .

A DI Treasure

Madi found this great amour at the DI for $50.00!!

It was in need of a good washing and some new paint, and a couple of new pulls. . .but what a find!
Its made by America of Marysville I beleive Madi said.

It was REALLY heavy (Madi and I and Steve got it out of the truck) The DI folks put in it the truck. Mike and James helped get it into the house and the bedroom, THAT was the real adventure, and I have no photos to prove it!

I was holding Lily and keeping Ella safe as the fellas and Madi manuvered this lovely new addition up on the porch ( a tight fit), thru the front door ( a tighter fit), into the living room, thru the bedroom door ( it hardly fit at all!!), over Madi and Joe's bed (where Mike got stuck and Madi got James who came to the rescue), into the girls room. . huffing and puffing and hoping that no one got smushed or broken in the process. It was pretty exciting!!

The Aftermath Of A Forest Fire

This is the forest on the way to Bend, before you go over the pass,

before you get to the part of the forest that was burnt.

Its so sad to see whats left of the trees, where the fire

went and where it didnt.
Each time we make the trip over the pass, whether its in the snow,

or the sunshine, I am always reminded of what a forest fire can do.
